DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

 

Location: Greater Moncton (Notre-Dame, NB)

 

Job Type:  Full-time

 

Role:

To oversee and lead the overall manufacturing process excellence that ensures optimized production following Sparta’s manufacturing and engineering standards, work collaboratively with others to deliver projects successfully, meet customer client experience standards, ensure qualified, caring and engaged team members, guarantee cost efficiency, oversee continuous improvement, and maintain high quality products and services.

 

Specific Accountabilities: 

Unique client experience: (throughout the project phase): Inspire, align and guide Sparta teams to bring innovation, energy, customer responsiveness and care that meets customer needs, creates an employee delivered successful customer. 

 

Operational Costs:  (costs of running the operations and having successful projects): Constantly evaluate our operational activities to ensure we make the best use of our resources and rationalize cost, bring maximum value to our customers, ensure we meet our profitability targets and remain competitive with our product and service offering.

 

Plant Throughput:  (engineering and production): Organize and oversee the effective and efficient manufacturing of products and services by ensuring the necessary resources and coordination of processes, guiding a qualified and engaged workforce, collaborating with customers, suppliers and internal teams and running smoothly functioning production lines that will deliver timely superior quality output.

 

Process Improvement:  Lead the effort of deliberate continuous improvement of products, services, processes, operations and optimize performance through the collaboration of all team members in the identification of opportunities, analysis, assessment, technical design, actionable recommendations and implementation of new and improved process models, structures and business practices.

 

Workforce needs and caring for employees:  To identify, attract, develop, coach, engage and motivate high calibre staff to ensure productivity and excellence in execution in operations and customer services. To ensure recognition and advancement for those who excel and maintain people practices that support our values and that are lawful, equitable and safe.

 

Qualifications:

  • Good business acumen.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in an operational manufacturing facility
  • Post‐secondary education in Business, engineering, or Finance.
  • Must be fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.

 

Skills:

  • Well-developed business ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrates good judgment.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations, project management, and business processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‐building skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic working relationships.
